Trails & BBQ
Apr 24 @ 10:00 am – 3:30 pm

This will be the official season opener. Plan to meet at Old City Market (Downtown) at 10:00am. Bring water, your chairs and a side dish to share with the group. Contact Linnea P. at the April meeting, or sooner, about what to bring. The Club will provide hamburgers, brats, buns, etc. The group will get to the picnic site by way of Elephant Skin and Chucker Trails (rated a 2).

Wave / Eagle
Apr 25 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

The Club will run Wave/Eagle loop as our annual clean up. Meet at Old (Downtown) City Market at 9am. Bring lunch, water, snacks, etc and have a full tank of gas. We’ll go up to the ridge line by way of BobCat Trail, our newly adopted trail in this area t do some trimming of brush and check for needed signage. Trail is rated a 4+.

Smith Mountain Clean Up
May 5 @ 9:00 am – 3:30 pm

Lester S. will lead the clean up on our adopted trail of Smith Mountain Jeep Road. Trail is rated a “3”. Meet at Downtown City Market at 9am. Have a full tank of gas, bring lunch, water and snacks. Plan on a later lunch at Cottonwood Campground on the Gunnison River at the end of the road.

Nine Mile Canyon, Price UT
May 12 @ 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Lester and Ruth S. will lead an exploration of Nine Mile Canyon in the Price UT area. Meet at the Holiday Inn in Price at 8:30am with a full tank of gas, lunch, water and snacks. Expect to be out all day looking for rock art. There will be numerous stops along the way. Trail is rated a 1 or 2.

Dry Canyon and Cottonwood Canyon, Price UT
May 13 @ 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Lester and Ruth S. will lead an exploration of some of the canyons in the Price UT area. Meet at the Holiday Inn in Price at 8:30am with a full tank of gas, lunch, water and snacks. Expect to be out all day looking for rock art. There will be numerous stops along the way. Trails are rated a 2 or 3.

Reservation Ridge Trail, Price UT
May 14 @ 8:30 am – 2:30 pm

Lester and Ruth S. will lead the group along Reservation Ridge Trail, with a couple of side trips for fun. Meet at the Holiday Inn in Price at 8:30am with a full tank of gas, lunch, water and snacks. Expect to be out all day looking for rock art. There will be numerous stops along the way. Trail is rated a 2 or 3, with 1 more difficult section (rated a 5) as an option.

Tabaguache Clean UP
May 19 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Eddie and Linnea will lead a clean-up run on Tabaguache Trail this Wednesday, May 19th. Plan to meet at Downtown (Old City Market) at 9:00am. Bring lunch, water, snacks, etc. Have a full tank of gas. This is one of our adopted trails so may need to do a little trimming and pick up some trash. A&W for ice cream after, if you want.

BookCliffs Loop
Jun 2 @ 10:30 am – 3:30 pm

Lester and Ruth Will lead the Bookcliffs Loop in the Grand Junction area. We plan to leave from the north side of exit 227 (in UT) on I70 at 10:30am. Allow about 2 to 21/4 hours drive time from Montrose, allowing for construction and traffic. Total mileage for the trail is about 77 miles and the trail is rated a 1 – basically a dirt road but we want to explore it. Please have a full tank of gas (last chance for a fill up is Fruita exit), lunch, snacks and water.

Rock Junction

The Grand Mesa Jeep Club has indicated they intend to hold their annual event Rock Junction from Thursday June 3 through Sunday, June 6th. Reference their website for more information as it becomes available.

West End Poker Run

The Nucla / Naturita Chamber of Commerce will host their annual West End Poker Run on Saturday, June 12. Registration is currently open but is limited to 30 vehicles on a first come basis. Not trail rating can be given as trail to be run is not disclosed ahead of time. Lunch is provided on the trail but have a full tank of gas and bring water and snacks.
